After going almost dormant for a time, the minivan market is getting competitive again.

Sure, for the most part it’s still the Chrysler Pacifica and Honda Odyssey that first leap to many people’s minds when they talk about the “station wagon of the ‘90s.” While some automakers ceded control of the segment to the “Big Two,” others are now rallying to give potential buyers (or leasees) some stunningly good options beyond the Pacifica and Odyssey.
Kia’s longtime model, the Sedona, was a fine offering, including some nice features like foot rests in the second row captains chairs; however, the brand — if you haven’t noticed — is undergoing a real metamorphosis in recent months.
Its redefining its image with an all-new logo, and several new offerings — including its minivan.
New minivan, new name
That brings us to its newest offering, the 2022 Kia Carnival. Somewhat fitting because I’m almost certain you could fit a ferris wheel in there. It also represents the company’s move to streamline some of its product lines. The company’s minivan has been called the Carnival everywhere else in the world it is sold for some time, just not the U.S. for some reason until now.
