Like so many new EVs, you’re beginning to see them on the roads in a few places, wondering if they live up to the hype. In this case, we’re talking about the 2022 GMC Hummer EV.

The current run of crabs all saluting LeBron James, the second-best player in modern hoops history, as it crab walks — for real, not using CGI — may be scorched into your brain.
Overview
The 2022 GMC Hummer EV Expedition 1 is just like its forefather, the Hummer: Big, brawny and off-road capable. Of course, it’s also the complete opposite, fast, quiet and comfortable. This contradiction on four wheels may be the most impressive machine on the road today.
It’s capable of climbing and descending steep grades with ease courtesy of its one-pedal driving control. It can get itself out of trouble not just using crab walk mode, but also extraction mode. It can crawl through the tightest turns because of the rear wheels spin faster than the fronts in certain situations.
While that would be plenty for a Hummer, it also blasts off, going from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds. Moving more than 9,000 pounds from a dead stop to 60 mph is ridiculous … ridiculous fun. That’s just some of the fun, I mean, research I conducted during 2.5 days behind the wheel.
