Mercedes continues to innovate and update its vehicles, and those efforts are very clear in the new 2024 Mercedes CLA Coupe revealed Wednesday.

Mercedes-Benz revealed the new 2024 CLA coupe with several exterior updates and new tech.

The changes to the four-door coupe begin outside with a a new front and rear fascia as well as “revised” radiator grille with a star pattern and a new diffuser all designed to give the couple-style sedan a sportier look, officials said.

In addition, the CLA receives “modernized” graphics in the LED headlights and taillights. That new treatment gets a new color, exclusive to the CLA, dubbed Hyper Blue, as well as newly available hue for multiple models: Starling Blue.

        Moving inside

If the updates for the exterior grabbed your attention, the interior changes should seal the deal. Tech and luxury go hand-in-hand these days and the CLA ensures you’re not missing out, starting with the new dual 10.25-inch screens: one for the instrument cluster and the second for the infotainment system.

Tech and luxury go hand-in-hand these days and the CLA ensures you’re not missing out, starting with the new dual 10.25-inch screens.

The steering wheel is upholstered in Nappa leather standard, plus a heated steering wheel is also available in the AMG Line for the first time. More changes are for the new model include new trim elements in a dark carbon look, open-pore brown linden wood or brown microfiber (AMG Line only) further enhance the interior.

Three interior colors are available in black, macchiato beige and sage grey, unless you’re springing for the more powerful — and more expensive — AMG model you can add bahia brown, Titanium grey pearl/black and red/black.

Mercedes offers the CLA in two AMG variants: the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 and CLA 45.

The MB-Tex/microfiber seat upholstery consists largely of recycled materials, 65% in the middle section of the seat and 85% in the bottom fabric. The use of recycled materials is an important measure on the way to carbon neutrality, the company notes.

        Moving fast

Nicer outside and nicer inside is good, but what about moving faster — everyone likes that. The new CLA doesn’t disappoint offering a mild hybrid 4-cylinder with a 48-volt on-board power supply adding a little push off the line.

Both the rear-wheel and all-wheel drive models come with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder putting out 221 horsepower, plus an extra 13 hp due to the electric motor. It’ll sprint from zero to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds. The top speed hasn’t been revealed.

However, that’s not the limit as Mercedes offers the CLA in two AMG variants: the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 and CLA 45. The 4-cylinder gets tweaked to put out 302 hp in the CLA 35 and 416 for the CLA 45. Paired with the AMG Speedshift DCT 8G dual clutch transmission, the runs to 60 in just 4.8 seconds and CLA 45 is even better at 4 seconds flat. Top speed for the former is 155 mph and the latter is 167 mph.
