        Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon Gets Update for 2021

Wagon gets interior and tech updates for next model year.

Mercedes-Benz updated its E-Class line-up for 2021, including the new wagon.

Wagons might be popular among affluent motorists in Europe – and automotive journalists – but with the popularity of sport-utility vehicles on the rise, they remain a tough sell in the United States.

But Mercedes-Benz isn’t giving up, rolling out an updated E-Class Wagon among its many model updates across its 2021 line-up.

For the 2021 model year, the previous E 450 4Matic wagon is replaced with the E 450 4Matic All-Terrain, which features an SUV-inspired grille and body cladding as well as a higher level of standard equipment and improved off-road performance, according to the company.

The new E-Class wagon gets an exterior makeover for 2021.

The redesigned AMG E 63 S wagon receives extensive facelift measures, including revised headlights, taillamps and an AMG-specific grille for the 2021 model year. The changes on for E 450 All Terrain and the AMG E 63S Wagon also includes a several other changes and upgrades.

A new 3.0-liter inline-6 turbocharged engine with EQ Boost is available and an “air body control” air suspension is now standard. The new wagon also offers new “dynamic select” drive modes, including Offroad and Offroad +, with downhill speed regulation and improved off-road performance.

In addition, the MBUX Infotainment system with touchscreen and “Hey Mercedes” voice control is now standard as is the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The MBUX Augmented Video for Navigation, MBUX Interior Assistant and Dashcam are now available and Wireless Charging with NFC pairing is now a stand-alone option in the models updated for 2021.

New exterior paint color options include Cirrus Silver, Mojave Silver and Graphite Grey. On the interior, Natural Grain Grey Ash wood trim and an updated Burl Walnut wood trim are now available for the 2021 model year.

Mercedes-Benz provided plenty of technology and infotainment upgrades for 2021.

New upholstery options include Neva Grey/Magma Grey and Macchiato Beige/ Magma Grey. Buyers can admire the new interior options while deciding whether the wagon should ride on standard 19-inch wheels or available 20-inch AMG wheels. There also is a new-generation steering wheel with capacitive sensor technology, a new-generation touch pad, and heated front seats now standard.

The Parktronic with Active Parking Assist and Surround View System now included in Premium Package and an updated Driver Assistance package now features Exit Warning Assist, extended restart for up to one minute with Active Stop-and-Go Assist and End-of-Traffic-Jam Assist.

(Mercedes sets new benchmark with 2021 AMG GT Black series.)

With more than 14 million units delivered globally since 1946, the E-Class and its predecessor models are the best-selling model series in the history of Mercedes-Benz, the company noted. With the recent redesign, the E-Class family continues to set the benchmark for intelligence within the Mercedes-Benz line-up through top levels of comfort, luxury and safety.
