Infiniti is bound and determined to move into the top tier of global luxury brands and is counting on a rapidly growing line-up to help get it there.
That includes an assortment of all-new SUVs, such as the recently launched QX30 and QX50 models. But the Japanese marque is also offering some low-volume, high-end editions of existing products. That includes the 2019 QX60 and QX80 Limited models that will make their debut at the upcoming New York International Auto Show.
“We know that luxury buyers are among the most discerning consumers and with these two new models, we are delivering exactly what they’re after – vehicles that truly make a statement while offering an empowered driving experience,” said Randy Parker, the head of Infiniti Americas, in a preview of the two Limited models ahead of their NYIAS debut.
The QX60 can use some tweaking as it’s one of the oldest models in the fast-changing Infiniti line-up. The current version was launched for the 2013 model-year, though it has gotten a handful of updates since then, most recently getting a bump to 295 horsepower with the 2017 model-year, as well as tech updates like onboard WiFi and a motion-activated liftgate.

The 2019 Infiniti QX60 Limited is targeting a new and more affluent buyer with a mix of more exclusive exterior and interior revisions. Outside, that includes dark chrome grille, fog lamp finishers and oor moldings, revisions to the roof rails and cross bars, and unique 20-inch dark color aluminum alloy wheels.
Inside, the QX60 Limited adds contrast stitching, leather-wrapped grab handles, dark silver wood accents, black pillars and headliner, quilted door panels and other upscale touches. Options include a suite of safety and security features, including Blind Spot Warning, Intelligent Cruise Control and Backup Collisions Intervention.
As with lower QX60 trim levels, power comes from a 295 horsepower 3.5-liter V-6.
The 2019 Infiniti QX80 Limited – one of three versions of the big SUV – gets similar upgrades, including dark machine-finished 22-inch forged aluminum-alloy wheels, stainless steel running boards with rubber grips, branded welcome lighting, unique front and rear bumper treatment and satin chrome exterior trim.

Inside, the QX80 Limited can be ordered with seven-passenger seating. In that configuration, it gets front and center-row captain’s chairs and a third-row bench. The seats now are appointed with two-tone semi-aniline leather and Alcantara. There’s a new silver open-pore ash wood trim, black ultrasuede headliners and pillars, and a variety of other high-line touches unique to the Limited edition.
The Limited also gets a standard Smart Rear View Mirror that, with the flip of a switch, turns into a monitor for a wider view of the road behind that isn’t blocked by passengers or cargo.
The ute shares its 400 hp 5.6-liter V-8 with the rest of the QX80 line-up.
