One thing you can say about Steve Saleen: he has eclectic taste. The one-time race driver has made a career of tweaking and tuning a variety of high-performance muscle cars, and even built his own supercar, the Saleen S7.
Now, with an all-new company, he’s back and taking aim at the current king of the pony car segment, the Chevrolet Camaro.
Saleen’s new company, SMS Supercars, will use the 2010 North American International Auto Show as backdrop for the unveiling of its latest ultra-performance model, the SMS 620 Camaro. The third offering from the Corona, California tuner, it rounds out a line-up that has already taken on the Dodge Challenger, with the SMS 570, and Ford’s ever-popular Mustang, in the form of the SMS 460.
