Nissan Global Small Car Sourced in Thailand

The unnamed car is designed to capture government subsidies.

No specs were released, so it is unknown if it is an electric vehicle, or possibly a hybrid model.

Number three Japanese automaker Nissan has released a sketch of its future “global compact car.”

The unnamed small car could be a replacement for the Micra model. Production will be launched in Thailand in March 2010, and no-name will then be exported to 150 other countries.

No specifications were released, so it is unknown if the car is an electric vehicle, or possibly a hybrid model, although Nissan has rejected that technology as too expensive in order to pursue EVs.

Nissan says the no-name model will be the Thailand’s first “eco-car.” This means that it will qualify for some government subsidies. However, VW, Toyota, Mitsubishi and Honda are also pursuing subsidies.
