FCA offered a sneak peek at the Mopar-customized Dodge Challenger it's bringing to the SEMA show next month in Las Vegas.

Mopar, FCA U.S.’ purveyor of accessories and performance parts, is offering a peek at what it is preparing to roll out for Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas in early November.

A mix of production and concept Mopar products have been bolted on to transform Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Fiat vehicles, demonstrating how the Mopar brand can help owners personalize their vehicles.

Mopar Charges into SEMA with 10,000 HP Dragster

by on Nov.05, 2014

Dodge hopes to dominate the Funny Car dragster series with the new Charger R/T.

For those who might think the new Dodge Hellcat models, at 700 horsepower, just don’t have quite enough muscle, you might want to check out the new Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car making its debut at this year’s SEMA aftermarket show.

The new rocket on wheels churns out something more on the order of 10,000-hp, enough to get it down a quarter-mile run in less than four seconds – at a speed approaching 320 miles per hour.

Power Up!

The new dragster is the product of a joint effort teaming Dodge and Don Schumacher Racing, noted Pietro Gorlier, the CEO of Chrysler’s aftermarket arm, Mopar. “The process of designing and building this new race car has been a true collaborative effort…and we are very excited with what we have brought to fruition,” he noted during a Las Vegas news conference.

The idea of a bulked-up Cinquecento might seem surprising to Americans, though Fiat’s affiliate, Abarth, has long shown what you can do with the little 4-seater.  And now, Mopar is taking a crack at it.  The Fiat 500 going on display at the Las Vegas Convention Center will feature flared fenders, a front air dam, a lower sill, modified rear exhaust and 18-inch Alcoa alloy wheels.
