Truck offers plenty of power, creature comforts.

The 2017 Nissan Titan features a strong grille that is often the hallmark of popular full-size pickups.

Trucks are in right now and their strong appeal has helped keep showrooms humming and factories busy.

One of the reasons that trucks are so popular is that they are solid and appealing vehicles. Case in point is Nissan Titan, which faces off against enormously popular Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F-150 and Ram 1500.

The Titan may not command the loyalty of the American brands but it is made in the United States in Canton, Mississippi, and it has the rugged style, driving characteristics, dynamics and features that Nissan’s competitors have used to define and re-define the segment in recent years. (more…)

Nissan Expands Titan, Titan XD Line-Up with New Single Cab Models

Both models deliver added cargo, tow capacity.

Nissan introduced its new single cab versions of the 2017 Titan and Titan XD.

Aiming to do a better job competing with the established Detroit pickups, Nissan is adding an assortment of different versions of its second-generation Titan truck, and the latest to roll out is the Single Cab model.

Make that “models,” as there will be single-row version of both the standard-duty 2017 Nissan Titan and the maker’s medium-duty Titan XD.

“Once we complete the roll-out of all Titan cab, bed, powertrain and grade level configurations, our all-new TITAN family will cover about 85% of the total light pickup marketplace,” said Rich Miller, Nissan North America’s director of Product Planning for Trucks, SUVs and Commercial Vehicles. Nissan Unleashes Titan Pickup Truck in New York

"Standard" truck follows in footsteps of Titan XD.

The standard Titan is powered by a 5.6-liter V8 engine, and offers rear and all-wheel-drive.

Nissan continues to broaden its efforts to expand its footprint in the lucrative American truck market by unveiling the 2017 Nissan Titan at the New York International Auto Show.

After hitting bottom during the 2008 2009 recession, truck sales have steadily climbed and General Motors, Ford and Fiat Chrysler have earned profits from their truck lines and Nissan, as well as Toyota, have taken up the challenge over the past new offerings.

New 2016 Nissan Titan to Start Just Over $40,000

Fully loaded pickup will top $60,000.

The top-line Titan XD Platinum Series.

The new 2016 Nissan Titan XD will debut at a starting price of $40,290, the maker announced this afternoon, with a fully loaded Platinum Reserve model pushing the sticker price up to $62,710.

Nissan is betting big on the launch of the new Titan XD. It marks the first remake of the Japanese automaker’s full-size pickup in a decade, and brings with it Nissan’s first U.S. diesel powertrain. The XD is the heavier-duty version of the Titan, with a standard ¾-ton truck set to follow next year.

“Titan XD represents a unique proposition in the marketplace,” said Fred Diaz, Nissan’s head of sales and marketing in the U.S., “as the truck stands at what we feel is the perfect midpoint in terms of size, price and capability between ½ ton and ¾ ton trucks, thus meeting a previously unmet customer need.”
