NTSB Investigating Latest Tesla Fire

This Tesla Model S caught on fire "out of the blue." The NTSB is investigating.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a Tesla Model S fire that occurred in West Hollywood, California, last week.

While Tesla vehicles have been in the news lately for a series of fires for the Model S and Model X vehicles, this time the fire was a bit unusual: it was spontaneous. Previous vehicles caught on fire after being involved in an accident.

Automotive Hall of Fame Unveils New Induction Class

Group to honor five new industry-related people.

AutoNation CEO Mike Jackson is part of the latest five-person induction class of the Automotive Hall of Fame.

The Automotive Hall of Fame has tapped five individuals, including two well-known media personalities and three pioneers from different parts of automotive business, for induction this summer.

The list of this year’s inductees includes Michael “Mike” Jackson, the current chairman, CEO and president of AutoNation, the largest automotive retailer for 19 consecutive years. The outspoken Jackson has been a major force in reshaping automotive retailing.

Also on the list are Frank Stronach, founder of Canadian based Magna International, which has become one of the industry’s top suppliers during the past four decades and Kiichiro Toyoda, the Japanese entrepreneur whose decision to expand his father’s company, Toyoda Automatic Loom Works, into automobile manufacturing led to the creation of one of the industry’s global powerhouses, the Toyota Motor Corp. The 2019 Mercedes-AMG G63 features several distinctive design details, including its grille and side exhaust pipes.

Less than a month after Arnold Schwarzenegger helped pull the wraps off the next-generation Mercedes G-Wagen, the German automaker is back with an even more bulked-up version of the off-road beast.

With a helping hand from the AMG side of the family the new G63 will boast the sort of power that one might more typically expect from a Mercedes sports car, a full 577 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque.

“The new AMG G63 brings driving performance to the segment of unadulterated off-road vehicles in unexpected form,” said Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.” The vehicle has evertheless reached a completely new dimension in terms of technology with the handcrafted AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine as well as in combination with the off-road characteristics, the agility and the vehicle dynamics achieved.”

McConaughey Hyping New Lincoln Navigator

Actor brings unique style to latest ad.

Matthew McConaughey is back and behind the wheel of the new Lincoln Navigator in the brand's latest commercial starting in January.

Ford’s luxury division, Lincoln finally produced a new Navigator full-size luxury sport-utility vehicle. However, this big profit generator will be promoted by a familiar face: Matthew McConaughey.

The actor, known for movies like Magic Mike, The Wolf of Wall Street and The Lincoln Lawyer, has been the spokesperson for the luxury brand for several years now and his early ads attracted quite a bit of attention, not all of it positive.
