Ferrari is offering the briefest of teases giving us a blurry look at the new F620 GT – which the automaker promises will be its most powerful model ever.

The rear-drive, V-12-powered supercar will serve as the replacement for the outgoing 599.  Plans call for the official unveiling at next month’s Geneva Motor Show, but the maker now says it will stage an advance preview on February 29th.

News You Can Use!

With its 6.3-liter engine making an estimated 740 horsepower, the Ferrari F620 GT should blow by just about anything the Modenese maker has ever produced before, save perhaps the Enzo in fact, one report claims the new model cut a full second off the Enzo’s lap time at the Fiorano race track.

A sketch, purportedly showing the F620 GT, has been making the rounds on the web.

Sources are quoting 0 to 100 kmh (0 to 62.5 mph) of under 3 seconds, with the supercar hitting the 200 kmh mark in just 8.5 seconds after a dead start.  It reportedly lapped Fiorano in just 1 minute 23 seconds.  Top speed is expected to exceed 340 kmh, or 212 mph.

Long known by the codename F152, the new 2-seater will pair its V-12 to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, power directed to the rear wheels.

The F620 GT is expected to make extensive use of carbon fiber and other lightweight materials and reportedly weighs in about 150 pounds lighter than the old 599, at approximately 3,400 pounds.

It’s also about 2 inches shorter, 2.4 inches lower and an inch narrower than the outgoing model, according to, which also featured a sketch purportedly showing more details than the official Ferrari F620 GT video.  We’ll have to wait for Leap Year Day to see if it’s accurate.
